Pyrographic art is used to burn each type of wood, the shop logo, and the year it was handcrafted onto the reverse side of each piece
Where We Started
Hello there, Bill here, owner/master craftsman of Bill’s WoodShed!
I guess you can say I got the woodworking bug when I was in Jr. High School. The school I attended offered a woodworking shop class which I took while in the 7/8th grades. I followed that up with 2 years of Carpentry Trade School High School. While in the Navy aboard the USS Fulton AS-11 where I was able to work in the woodworking shop. Upon discharge from the Navy, I continued with my woodworking…honing my skills.
Fast forward to 1997….this is when I discovered The Hardwood Store of N.C. and that is where I found all the different colors in which hardwood naturally grew. These colors are incorporated into each piece crafted. The colors (types of wood) and the character (grain) of the wood I choose, result in eye-appealing, yet functional works of art. I search for the most vibrant color and character in the wood types I use such as yellow heart, red heart, ambrosia maple, curly maple, zebra wood, purple heart, and lace wood.
