Welcome to Bill's Woodshed: Handcrafted Wood Art with a Story

Hi, I'm Bill Boak, and I'm the owner and master craftsman behind Bill's Woodshed. When you step into my shop, you'll immediately notice the comforting hum of tools and the rich scent of sawdust. But don't let the unassuming exterior fool you – inside, you'll discover stunning masterpieces crafted from domestic and exotic hardwoods, each one a functional work of art.

My journey with woodworking started early, back in junior high shop class, and continued through carpentry trade school. I even had the chance to work in the woodworking shop aboard the USS Fulton AS-11 during my time in the Navy, constantly refining my skills.

A pivotal moment came in 1997 when I visited The Hardwood Store of N.C. There, I was captivated by the incredible array of natural colors found within every piece of hardwood. This discovery reshaped my approach: now, finding the most vibrant colors and distinctive grain patterns is what truly drives every design and creation at Bill's Woodshed. These natural elements are carefully integrated, ensuring each handcrafted item is both eye-appealing and highly functional.
